"Many a man proclaims his own faithfulness, but a faithful man, who can find?"
We celebrate our victories engraved on platters of gold, penned in books, or etched as graffiti on walls for all to see. We gladly tell of our exploits, the wondrous deeds wrought by our valiant hands. However, we often—intentionally or unintentionally—neglect to share our shortcomings with those who listen to us.
Below, I share with you some postcards; a list of goals I targeted to achieve during 2024. I made the goals S.M.A.R.T.—Like the motivational speaker said. I interpolated all my goals into ‘numbers’, and gave a short summary beneath.
They were very Specific, Measurable—I even gave them numerical value, Achievable—“I can do all things through Christ, nothing is Unachievable!” I yelled, under the new-year High. Relevant—of course they are!, and Time-Bound—12 Months; too much,
365 days later, I failed to fully accomplish everything on this list, and this is why:
Unrealistic Goals: I set unrealistic goals and lofty ambitions.
Realistic Pursuit: My energy and focus waned.
Abuse of Resource—Time and People: The biggest mistake I made in 2024 was my inability to trap time. It takes; time to be close to God, time to build, and time to do basically anything. In 2025, invest in facilities that help Trap Time: office space, an extra laptop battery, a router, a solar lamp, or anything that can help you utilize time better. I also realized that the goals that completely done were the ones done in ‘Partnership’ with someone else! Time and people are God’s biggest gifts to us.
By God’s kindness, none of these goals were ‘Undone’, I didn’t execute some completely. In summary, Why I failed some of my goals in 2024 was because…👇
I tried to accomplish unrealistic goals with realistic efforts.
In 2025;
I will set more unrealistic goals, but this time, I’ll match the goals with even more unrealistic effort.
Dead men neither ‘pass’ nor ‘fail’ Join Life.
wow, that's an interesting. meeting unrealistic goals with unrealistic efforts.
I celebrate the audacity Pete!
